This book is the worst 5 star read I’ve ever read! I won’t even finish it. It is the most joyless, depressing read!! I know ladies who were farm girls during the Great Depression and while life was hard there were joyful moments. There is nothing redeeming in this story! Disappointing!

A little too much “boy humor” for my taste. I also felt like the gay acceptance agenda was added in or more accurately, slapped on without being pertinent to the story. It irritates me when it is added in an unrealistic way completely inconsistent with the time period.
