"For me, talking to strangers is something you do as a last resort: lost in an unfamiliar neighborhood, broken leg, dead phone, typhoon__and, really, only if all these things happen all at once."

The sovereignty of God is often questioned because man does not understand what God is doing. Because He does not act as we think He should, we conclude He cannot act as we think He would.

If God says, "I've given you my grace, and that is enough," will you be content? Content: A state of heart in which you would be at peace if God gave you nothing more than He already has. Test yourself with this question: What if God's only gift to you were His grace to save you. Would you be content? If God did nothing more than save us from hell, could you complain?

Luck: I never knew an early-rising, hard-working, prudent man, careful of his earnings, and strictly honest, who complained of bad luck. A good character, good habits, and iron industry are impregnable to the assaults of ill-luck. _Addison

(Christian schools are expensive)
If providing a Christian education is a moral obligation, somehow parents must bear the costs associated with that moral obligation. Food is expensive also, but no one argues that we should not feed our children.

Too often parents measure success by a truly odd criterion. "My child attended public schools, and he graduated with his faith still intact. He still attends church." In other words, we think the educational process is vindicated simply because some students survive it. But if I were to hit mysel in the head repeatedly with a hammer and survive, my survival would not really be an argument in favor of the practice.
