Well that’s my heart in shreds and tatters. (I knew this book, and this specific character, was going to make me upset. I knew!! I wish I’d been wrong.)

Chapter 11. <3

Ah, there it is. One of the two things I clearly remember about this series from when I first read it back in the early 00s. :( Couldn’t remember how or why but I remembered this bit in my bones. (Didn’t hurt as bad this time, probably because I have been quietly expecting it all along …)

My racing heart is currently cradled between the pages of this book, and I have no idea if it’s going to slam shut and leave me with broken pieces, or let me gather it back into my chest to keep beating.

This book seems determined to keep Monty in a state of undress. XD (I mean, I’m here for it. This is by no means a complaint, I’m finding it highly amusing and endearing.)

I was going to stop for the night but I am so glad I didn’t and read chapter 8 after all. <3 (Mild SPOILERS? I had to stop half way down page 151 to collect myself because I knew, the instant I read the thing that happens at that point, that it was going in a specific direction, and I was right, and it was exactly as good as I’d braced myself for.)

I am enjoying this a ludicrous amount.

I've been going through a bit of a reading slump lately but this grabbed me by the throat with the opening page (let alone chapter!) and hasn't let me go yet.

Oh, no, this is MUCH worse than I expected ...

I can see how this is going to blow up in everyone’s faces. (Cannot guess what the fallout will be though ... I know only that it will hurt a lot.)
