And just like that, i remember why I love Emily Henry's books and why this is my favourite. Now to dive back in before I hand over to Lynne...

Update from three chapters in: I tried. I really tried to give a Booker prize winner a shot. I even thought an audiobook might get me through it. And while Daniel Weyman is a brilliant narrator, I simply cannot listen to him attempt to make this dull protagonist who seems to only be able to say, "Okay." and, "I don't know." Life is too short and I have too many books to read.

Finished this at 1AM. Needed 30 minutes of lying in the dark to process everything. Wow.

Civil servant main character? Whose secret assignment is look after a person from the past?? Because time travel???

Not me dreaming this up as a real thing....

I found myself daydreaming about the the characters, wondering what will happen, counting down the hours until I could found out.

Multiple viewpoints are my favourite. With each new chapter I thought, "I love this complex, sad, beautiful person, how can I feel the same way about the others?" And then the next chapter and the next changed that.

This book will stay with me for a long time. True craft of writing.

For the most part, this book is your classic John Green (i.e. not my cup of tea). But it's about OCD and I wanted to try it out. It made me cringe and put it down at times, and I can firmly say this is the most accurate depiction of OCD I've read in fiction.

Reading Emily Henry is like a long warm hug. She makes me believe in love again.

Barely made a dent but I want to shout about how GOOD THIS IS

Actually closed the cover and said, “Oh god, this is good.” 16 pages in and woooow these words are fire on the page

I’m LOVING this. The artwork. The story. How fairytale characters have been modernised! (Cinderella? Badass fencer. Snow White and Red Riding as sisters. Prince Charming a sleazy asshole.) I can’t wait wait wait to see where it goes!

I’ve waited 2 months to read this because I wanted it to be my first book of 2021. Start it off with unknown pages my heart is confident will be good ❤️

I’ve read these last three pages three times and can’t stop crying. How heartbreaking and almost laughable to hear how in love a person can be, how wonderful and in sync two people are, only for a patient to push it all away.

Makes a change from earlier in the book when another kind, caring patient was stuck in a relationship waiting for them to change. He never did. Again, heartbreaking but not laughable :(

I NEED THE NEXT ONE RIGHT NOW!!! I can’t remember the last time I was desperate to keep reading a book, lost in a fantasy world and its characters and the words, daydreaming about it when I’ve put it down. BOOK 2 HIT ME
