The worst seems to be over; pgs. 140-148 are the most glaring examples of the issues with Beauvoir's writing style: droning paragraphs where she repetitively lists off names of people, number and stats, and dates of events that aren't necessary to establish a point she's trying to make. That stretch went into way more detail than was needed which made it a drag to get through.
