The magic isn't over-explained and the author isn't too descriptive of the world(too many authors over describe). I like it.

Another great book by Auel.

Wow (not a good wow). I'm am very disappointed. I waited so long for this sequel and so far I am bored. The characters talk soo much and never DO anything. The talk about doing things, they talk about having done things, they over-explain everything. Its frustrating and I'm actually starting to skim through much of it.

I didn't reread the Divergent and I still am a bit lost, but I am starting to enjoy the book. However, I have already decided that the first book was a lot better.

Ugh...last book ended with so much potential. This book started with so much potential, but by page fifty we are back where we were in the previous novel. I really hope something changes and fast, or I will probably be giving up on this series.

Started the audiobook today. Its starting off really slow, but it might feel that way to me because I remember little of the previous novel (even though I loved it).

It took a while for things to get interesting.

I started this summer after owning the book for about a five years. I forgot I was even reading it.

And so begins the lengthy journey of reading a Jacqueline Carey book.

I would've thought that the story told from Ash's point of view would be a lot more interesting. However, I'm finding it is pretty dull.

I'm really enjoying this one. I didn't expect much when I started reading, but surprises are always welcome.

I'm really sucked in to their terminator-esque world.

Total under-reaction to Eve's 'secret.' Its kinda creepy how chill they were.

The second half is really bad.

The pace has really slowed down in the second half. Not only that, but this book has gone from being a unique piece of literature that was different from what you can find now in the dystopian genre, to just another dystopian tale.

I'm listening to the audiobook, and I am loving this book. Deuce isn't the weak helpless heroine you see a lot.

This book is kinda hard to get through. Froan is difficult to like, and the majority of the story is from his perspective.

Ever since reading the Queen of the Orcs series this series set in the same world doesn't have the same appeal it once did.

Almost there. I loved how Dumbledore finally became this not-so-perfect being. Yet by his admission it made him even more awesome in my eyes.

This sequel is a showing a lot more promise than Crown Duel, the first book.

Darkenss has "swalllowed" Mel again...How many times can one person faint...

One pet peeve I have is when the hero/heroine always passes out to close a scene or as soon as the action is finished. Why can't authors let their characters walk out of a battle/event with dignity.
