I'm still not sure about this. When it's serious, it's awesome but most of the time it's trying to be light and funny and sadly fails miserably and becomes just boring.

The prose and pace were driving me crazy and I was about to DNF it at around the 15% mark. But then something changed. The story and mystery picked up and I got used to the writing style and I have decided to continue.

Not sure if this is working for me. I've read some LitRPG books in the past, and most importantly, I've read Matt Dinniman's previous series - Dominion of Blades, so I know what to expect from a LitRPG book but this feels rather stale and boring up to this point. I just hope it gets better by the mid-point.

This book is amazing! It's definitely better than the previous 2. And the twists and subversions of reader expectations are crazy!

This is a very weird, quite amazing and rather unique book!

No idea what to expect with this one. I'm going in totally blind (I haven't even read the "blurb"), only knowing that people praise it over its uniqueness and prose. Let's see then.

Almost finished. Some great exciting moments, some demanding passages. Definitely on par with the rest of the series and as good as I was expecting.

This is a reread (first time was many years ago) and I think I'm actually enjoying it a bit more this time. Maybe because I'm older, have a family and this I can identify a little more with Marcovaldo's problems.

Awesome book, much better that the first books in the series and more captivating. I just hope Gwynne gives us a great ending...

Judging by most aspects of writing quality, this is actually better than the previous 3 books. I'm so excited to keep reading!

It started a bit indifferent and slow, with a lot of mini-recaps contained in the normal narration, but it has since picked up the pace and now many things are happening. A lot of character investment and development!

Started slow but it's picking up now

Really fun book, as good as the first one, maybe even better.

A general improvement in most aspects to the first book! Still a lot of POVs but this time the action is non-stop and the plot weaves and twists like crazy!

Great second part, better in most aspects. My only problem is one I had with the first book: Too many POVs!

This book is great! Initially, it might appear as a classic tropey epic fantasy story but there are enough fresh modern elements in there to differentiate. The characters are all great, both good and bad... and there are a lot of them!! It's obvious Gwynne had a strong GRR Martin influence! I just hope the end is satisfying and makes me want to continue onto the next one!

The plot has started to pick up and it's very addicting! There might be a bit too many POVs for my taste but I suppose it will pay back later with character attachment.

This is a superbly written book, which I'm sure many people will justifiably love, but it's not keeping me glued to the page. Too much character-driven, too little or slow plot for me.

I was almost ready to DNF/pause this at around chapter 7 because there was nothing holding me to the story but then things started happening and now I'm willing to continue!

Another 9 out of 10 ! I liked this one as much as the first, maybe a bit more in some respects! Short review to come later today or tomorrow!

I've finished this but I need to find time to write a review. This is getting the rather rare 5 star rating! There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I can't find a single fault with it and it was as enjoyable as it gets!

Very fast-paced and exciting action SF! I'm loving it!
