Finished the first story and I don't know if I can take any more of this. So depressing!

Though overly long, this book is worth reading just to discover the fascinating cults of Santa Meurte and Jesus Malverde.

I would never have considered reading this (dreck) if I wasn't such a big fan of James St. James' Party Monster. Cat Marnell was a guest on his podcast and shared how much of an influence Party Monster was on her writing. That was a good enough endorsement for me and it's paying off because I am really enjoying this book so far.

Not the kind of trucking book I was looking for.

I got to the second story and was so bummed out I had to stop. Are there more uplifting stories further on? I wasn't willing to risk it.

I'm learning all sorts of cool stuff about North Korea that I didn't know. The Swedish authors went on a bizarro tour of the country, so they talk about their tour companions and tour guides.

I love Julian Cope and really wanted to like this book. But it doesnt make any goddam sense! So it has to be abandoned.

I didnt finish it. It was too long and had that fantasy element I don't like that much.

There is some very interesting stuff in here from an anthropological point of view. I just wish the author didn't take everything at face value. He doesn't bother questioning anything. This gives his as much credibility as the faith healers he writes about.

There is no way of verifying how much of this book is true. So i'm going to assume not much. I'm also surprised at the racism throughout. I read "Bury Me Standing" by Isabel Fonseca and it described the horrors of the gypsy holocaust. So its very hard to read King of the Gypsies without keeping that in mind.

The Greyhound story by Harrison Scott Key (50 Shades of Grethound) made me burst into hysterical laughter more than once.

My attention span sucks, so I stopped reading this before I even got to the story of The Knights.

What a weird book. I wanted to check our Matt Thorne's writing after reading his story in the book based on songs by The Fall
Cherry leaves a lot of questions unanswered. For instance, what is a "scart plug"? Nevertheless I enjoyed it.
