I had to set it down for a few days, even knowing from book #3 that Mark had gotten married, but to approach how/why they'd broken up leading him back to that snobby woman who often degraded him(!!), was getting me too upset. Finally got to it, and yes, Bridget again was stupid, and it was bad, but based on her explanation (Daniel just wanted to see them!), it wasn't that bad but the timing was terrifyingly horrible.

Starting the story with MMC was a very interesting and engaging premise to see where he came from and the setup to his return home. The FMC is young and naive as always with a tragic background, too, but these two have just gotten way too corny for me, even for a romance. I was flying through it until the halfway mark, so poking along now. Do want to see how they get out the danger now at their feet.

How did she meet these insecure, egotistical, suffering assholes for a husband?! Nearing the end of her life with this dick has saddened me so for her.

Oh, sadness... it's a poignant story much of the way. But just reaching part about Carole, I knew the impact on Clark. It's sadder than sad to read... as always, their friendship and respect for each other is sweet. I'm windering about James, now, though since the war has started...

Interesting start with man as lead, until nearly halfway when he and woman realize the centuries have brought them together and he must get them both out of danger. His backstory to me is quite captivating, and the circumstances that bring him back to the place, unexpectedly and somewhat reluctantly, he'd fled as a child has held my attention. So much focus on him, I like this change actually.

Why do I hear Clark's voice loud and clear and even see him so crystal clearly?! Ive known of their friendship for years, nice to see it given time to see here. Also, loving the input of Louise and Lillian. Nice, too, to see Nina Mae given presence here. Its a sad story, in how shes telling it, but it was as it was and she was making her way through, without trying to ruffle no feathers... but she did anyway, quietly
