Mood writing. Written in very descriptive sentences, but structure is stanza-like (author is a poet). Struggling to get through narrative due to relentless focus on obscure characters, with new details popping up at end of each chapter ...sort of bread crumb-like.

Barb is 80% done with Yiddish for Pirates

This book would not be for everyone: narrated by a parrot and with lots of Hebrew words, but it is fun and everyone will get the Columbus connection. Strong undercurrents of Jewish persecution and underdog sensitivities. Waiting to see how that will be resolved or if book is just a romp.
