Karen is on page 100 of 422 of The Kingmaking (Pendragon's Banner Trilogy, #1)
Why did it take me so long to read a Helen Hollick book? This is great

Karen is 40% done with The Girl Who Came Home
This is a pleasant surprise -a lot of POV changes but the characters have pulled me in to the well known story

Karen is on page 150 of 470 of Mistress of Rome (The Empress of Rome, #1)
I don't think this is my kind of book. I know first century Rome was a place full of violence and sex, but this story is a little over the top.

Karen is reading The Fool's Tale
I know there are plenty of books about the Tudors, but is a story about a 12th century prince married to English royalty for political alliances really a common them these days? I like the book, but the story has so many similarities to Here Be Dragons that I keep comparing the 2 and Here Be Dragons comes out on top.

Karen is on page 108 of 352 of The Secret Life of Bees
I needed a break from the 16th century and the Spanish Armadas so I leapt all the way to the 1960s. This book starts off sad but the story is pulling me in.
