The author writes about Kinski in a “You did this and how dare the public have boo-ed you” way, and then takes the opportunity to write about himself in third person. It’s getting a bit insufferable to read about these self-centred people because he references Hitler and Iggy Pop as well.

It is interesting as a concept though. I guess you can write anything you want really

Finished this book underneath trees in the grass and as I was reading the last heart-aching passages – there was a beautiful shadow play on the pages. As if Robert Mapplethorp was making his own black and white composition right there in spirit. Shed a few tears.

Reading 10 different hypotheses about the incident is so annoying I begun to think the incident never even happened and the next chapter was called “what if it never even happened” and I suffocated the page shut.
