Cathy Waters is starting The Last Chairlift
Okay didn’t realize it’s 900 pages. It’s been a while since I read something by John Irving so this will be a test.

Trying to read a chapter a day now. Ready for some light fiction but learning a lot from this book.

Trying to figure out why this has been on the best seller list for so long. So far, not impressed!

It is slow. I have renewed it twice but may try again due to the many positive reviews

This book has been recommended to me so often that I finally decided I should "take my medicine" and read it. And what I have discovered is how much I look forward to reading it. It is an amazing book.

Cathy Waters is 56% done with Les Misérables
Just finished pivotal action chapter in which Marius is the secret onlooker. Funny and fun to read, not what i expected from a book with Miserables in the title. If it were a "normal" 300-ish page book, it would now wind down to a conclusion. But there are probably many highs and lows ahead with 54% remaining! Looking forward now to seeing the just-finished scene in the movie or on stage.

Cathy Waters is 39% done with Les Misérables
At page 493 and only 39% finished! Resorted to reading articles titled: "Should you read Les Mis in unabridged or abridged editions?" and "How to read Les Mis" and "Which sections you can skip in Les Mis." Read all of Waterloo but skimmed most of the "nun history." I appreciate having context but "come on Victor, back to the story!" The story is exciting, fun, and funny so far.
