I thoroughly enjoyed this entry to the series.

This book is bloody good. The kind of good where, when I'm not reading it, I'm longing to get back to reading it. I hope it keeps up at this pace, because I've got 700+ pages left to read!

Excellent so far. Filled with rich detail about the innards of restaurant life in New Orleans.

After a deceptively promising first page, this book plunged faster than a pair of cement shoes in a river. This is the laziest piece of writing I have seen in a long time. And that's aside from a glaring error missed by author, editor, and any proofreaders. The only thing keeping me reading is the 15 bucks I spent on this thing - and if it doesn't improve in a hurry, even THAT won't be enough.

The 2nd part of the book isn't as humorous as the 1st, as if Hess grew weary of the characters halfway through. Still a good mystery, though.

It's 3:30am and have to be at work in a few hours. Instead, I'm awake reading this. It's classic Joan Hess so far - hilarious and difficult to put down.

I've got to admit that this book was an impulse buy, and since it's not the "cozy mystery" that I usually read, I had buyer's remorse. But I started reading it tonight to see if I could get me US$7.99 out of it. And damn...I can NOT put this book down. It is following me to the bathroom, the kitchen, and everywhere. I've read 192 pages since early this afternoon.

But I can't add anything that would add something to our 9/11 heroes. I am bowing out to let the 9/11 heroes tell their story.

Very good so far. I can't wait to find out how this ends.
