I read the first five chapters. I love this author but not this book. Thus I gave up.

The second book in the series takes place at the county fair and rodeo. Lucy is accused of murdering one of the rodeo beauty queen contestants .

I have finished the first book. Love the characters even though the plot line is like many other cozy mysteries. I do enjoy the simple reads.

Mel and Angie take the cupcake shop to a rodeo. Oz, Marty, and Tate go too. The rodeo sponsor and star rider are harmed. The star was a mean drunk and killed. Oz is the main suspect. Love these characters.

There were some funny moments but not like the first books where there great laughs. Stephanie goes after Uncle Sunny, Joe's godfather. Grandma Belle gives her the stinky eye several times. Stephanie has several mishaps with Ranger's cars. Grandma Mauzer is looking for love.

Good series. Chet, the dog, gets distracted in telling the story. In this one Chet and Bernie head to Louisiana to find Ralph. They get mixed up with off shore drilling and a drug gang. I can't wait for the next book.

All Eve's friends are racing time to save her from being killed by Doane. This is the last book in the trilogy.

This was a quick read. It was okay but not sure if I would go read the earlier books.

Love the characters. Can't wait for the next book.
