ok this was dark

really enjoyed these stories, debating between 4 and 5 stars. super bizarre scif-fi-y shorties told as if everything happening in them is normal and definitely not weird. varying levels of dread in each of the stories, which are my fav types of short story collections.

this meandered too much for me. i enjoyed the parts set in the present between mother and daughter and the narrator's internal thoughts on their relationship past and present, but whenever she went back in her memories that didn't include the mother i didn't really care to pay attention. very quick read.

really enjoyed this book, loved the siblings relationships and seeing their differentiating perspectives over the years on events that happened when they were younger. quick and lovely story.
