I don't like how at the top of each chapter we get a long excerpt from the original novel that Rae read. It's like telling me about a bunch of really cool stuff that I'll never get to see on the page. They're also in the same font with the same characters so it throws me out of the actual book I'm reading.

No one's childhood is interesting, even Patti Smith's. This book could have begun at 35%, since only now does it feel like I'm finally getting to the good part.

I'm pretty deep in and I feel like I barely know the main characters. I'm disappointed because this book isn't as good as previous books in the series.

This was supposed to be funny and hasn't been so far. There is also no reference for how old the author is in each story so it feels really random. First we're trick or treating, then we're in a closet for 7 minutes in heaven, then smoking cigarettes. Was this the same year?

Soooo guess this whole book is just going to take place at this gala heist then...

I keep finding excuses not to read this because I feel like something bad is going to happen.

I'm enjoying this far more than I expected. I've read excerpts of The Odyssey before but I don't think I've ever read the entire thing. It's fun to see how many of these character names have permeated pop culture. I regularly hear Telemachus on Bluey and Nausicaa was the name of the title character in Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

This is dense and rather dry. Far more science than memoir. I have to wonder who the intended audience is when much of this "Adventure" reads like a textbook.

This has been different from other Bridgerton novels. I'm really digging the lost jewelry/scavenger hunt subplot.

Every person in Eight Graves could be the poisoner at this point!

I didn't get to finish this book during my library checkout. Not to wait 8 weeks for my hold 😅

This is a longer book than I was expecting and, as it turns out, poetry takes me longer to read in general.

Slow start for this Hazelwood novel. Her books are usually so fast paced and easy to read but this has been a snore. I still don't know what the main character sees in this guy?

Really enjoying these slice of life stores!

The setting is described so poorly in this story. I'm struggling to understand where we are in space in each scene. The world building aggressively tries to make itself understandable but it's still confusing.

I'm not a huge fan of books set during this time period, it's a sad and monotonous time period. I'm hoping to get more into this because I like Bardugo's other work. But this has felt slow so far.

Didn't finish this audiobook in time before it went back to the library. Now I have to wait 12 weeks 🫠

A lot of political maneuvering.

I've loved the richly detailed setting and supernatural bend to the world. If the house doesn't make it out of this story in tact I'm going to be beside myself.

I have almost no idea what's going on. Nothing is explained. It's like a philosophical discussion between two people in letters but they're also in a time war and maybe one of them is a tree? The other I'm thinking is a bug of some kind? Oh, and the characters don't have names just Red and Blue.

But the writing is lovely.

I haven't read a thriller in a while and this has been a fun ride so far!

Going to pause reading this and pick it up on audiobook later.

I know 0 things about Julia "Uncut Gems" Fox. I heard that this audiobook was fantastic though so I'm excited to listen!

I was going to put this book down after chapter 1 because I didn't think I'd enjoy it. It's been a wild ride! Glad I kept going. The ending will make or break it though.
