This book is so Gen Z coded. It starts with a man having to get to sea because the thought of being on land for one more minute is going to make him Ethan Frome and the first thing he does is shack up with a man with a big "harpoon." This story is so unserious.

This book is bananas.

It's gone from general badness of the times to badness on a personal level and it's a really scary time to be reading this.

I don't like this one as much as the others. Partly because these are two sad lil rich kids and we aren't in our sympathize-with-rich-kids era. Also, my brain is making them Timothee Chalamet and Kristin Stewart.

Is this going to fuck me up? Absolutely.

This is such a weird mix of Illuminae, Turton's previous books, and Tolkeiny Elves and Hobbits. The narrator gives it an extra Britishy stodginess. Depending on how it ends, this may just be my overall review.

This book is giving Annihilation and Victorian The Last of Us vibes.

I'm starting to go though the freebies on my kindle and this one is such a slog.

Ugh, my worst nightmare

This reads like a K-Drama and I'm soooorta here for it?

This really feels like a Red Dwarf AU and I'm not feeling the Rimmer Lister ship.

This was recommended by one of my absolute favorite authors, Cat Sebastian, so the bar is high with this one.
