the gargoyles used to be diviners, who would have guessed

"my fruitless quest to find my friends", girl, you didn't even look for five minutes before learning what happened to them, wdym fruitless

idk maybe it's because i don't have religious trauma so i have a different perspective but i've seen people complaining about this book's religious undertones being too much meanwhile i'm over thinking sybil should have been a religious zealot for her character to be more interesting.

this book really had me first half but has now almost completely lost me because i keep thinking of interesting things it could do instead of whatever is happening. but maybe that's on me, my high expectations were maybe too high??

actively trying to finish this because i just want to read something else !

maybe my heart lacks whimsy but rory declaring his undying love for sybil is crazy work. you two don't know each other that well to be doing all of that 😭

i'm booored

there's nothing more annoying than a man saying "i know what you think and like." like omg rory shut up. "you like that i am a bad knight." i'm swinging my hammer at his head.

if some boy-king told me "its my wish to wield all the god-magic items in the realm." i would simply bludgeon him to death with my hammer and chisel.

girl, you have to decide between calling him rory or rodrick, it cannot be both right now

hope we'll learn the names of other diviners outside sybil :(

*eyes squinting* are... are the gargoyles former diviners ...? 🧐

two things :

1) benedict's reaction to the diviners not being paid reminds me of that one scene in shrek 2 where they're like "they don't even have dental."

2) call me a bore but chapter 4 is way too early for sybil to start calling rodrick "rory" !!! that's for later !!!

yeah, if my name was rodrick myndacious i would also want to be called rory

i am making my way through it, just very slowly

Navigating between the audiobook (the narrator has a very stilted cadence) and the ARC/ebook but i'm just not finding this very interesting so far. I love the cats tho and like Agnes i take offense anytime they're referred as vermin.

caliban has stopped talking in demon speech. the situation is DIRE.

hmm.

im not DNF-ing but i do want this to be over

this is just game of throne actor rpf ???
