Peri is out of jail, and spending time with her father and brother. Her father is sort of using this scenario to get close with her again. Brooke is finally getting out of the hospital, but not before the press heard about what had happened. The children are with their grandmother. Peri is seeing a therapist, talking about whether or not she is fit to have her children back.

(5/11 evening) In the hospital, Peri realizes how bad her situation is. She is scared for her children, Brooke in particular. While her brother is in the hospital with her, it takes a while for her to open up. Graham shows up, Carl is furious with him. Peri believes that she doesn't deserve to keep the kids. Carly and Ryan visit her in jail. The author talks about her time in jail. The children don't want to talk

I don't know who Garnet is, but he's offering to take the children from Carl, Peri's father. He has money to take care of them. Garnet is Graham's mother. Grandma Mackenzie, as the kids know her, want them to go back and live with Graham. Carl is not okay with this, because he hasn't showed any interest in the kids since the divorce. They're going home with their grandfather.

Peri went to Graham's house. When his new wife said he wasn't around and wouldn't let her in, she broke a window and freaked out. The police came and she went to the hospital, now being moved up to the psych ward and being questioned by the police.

Noel is Peri's brother. Graham is the children's father. Carl is the children's grandfather. He got a message from Rosie, their neighbor about how sick Brooke was. He came to get Carly and Ryan while Brooke went to the hospital. They are still trying to get a hold of Peri and Graham, with no luck. The kids are staying the night at their grandfather's house.

Brooke is sick and has been brought to the hospital. Carly and Ryan are at home, expecting the police to get involved in their mother's disappearance. Noel seems to be the grandfather and Carl is the children's father. They are showing some concern over Peri's recent behavior.

The book switches to Peri and her current situation. She is in a motel and cannot stop thinking about the baby, Brooke. Everything around her reminds her of her helpless, sick child. Carly is left to take care of the house, herself, and the baby. She starts to worry about the bills, but she hopes her mom took care of it, or that she'll be back before it becomes a problem.

This book starts out by talking about a mother of three children, one who is very disabled. Her husband has recently left her, and her once perfect life has taken a bad turn. She has become very depressed, and one day just decides to leave. Her children are left behind, the oldest of the two girls is left to take care of Brook, the disabled one. Her brother doesn't help.

During her junior year, she shared an apartment with her best friend Lila and and a younger guy Pat. One day during a class, Alice began to experience horrible stomach pains. She had someone bring her home, where she found a crime scene, and police everywhere. Lila had been raped. Alice did her best to be comforting, they call Lila her clone. Pat and Marc thought that they saw her rapist, they went looking.

The trial is done, and Madison was convicted with close to the maximum sentence. She has since turned her life around, she calls it her "re-birth". She lost fifteen pounds, and made a bunch of changes, putting the rape behind her. She is heading back to Syracuse for school soon.

She recognized her rapist in the street, and he confronted her. After this, she went to the police and not she is having her trial, nearly a year later. With support from Tess, her poetry professor, and also her attorney, she is making her was through the trial. Although, she chose the wrong suspect when presented with five. She has just been questioned by the jury.

Her church has found out about the rape. Many people come to apologize and support her however they can. She talks about the people she met her freshman year of college, and returns to Syracuse for her sophomore year. Many people were supposed at this decision.

I love books that start out fast, and don't take too long to get going. This book definitely does that. It is very descriptive and portrays the characters emotions very clearly. The author is bringing back things from her childhood to help set the scene for the reader. I'm learning a lot about her mothers past that help me understand her mistrust in her now.

Jenna has started school and made some friends. She has also found out about her condition, being made 90% out of bio gel. She is not okay with this.

The book starts by explaining Jenna's state. She has just woken from a year long coma that was the result of a car accident. She has no memory of her past. She watches home films to try to jog her memory. Her father, who is a medical doctor is away on business a lot. For some reason, her grandmother seems to give her a sort of cold shoulder. She recalls her first memory of almost drowning as a child.

Bridget is upset about how things went with Eric last night, Lena has met with Kostos and he has made up for seeing her swim. Carmen has left her dad's to go home, because she felt "invisible". Tibby is upset at Carmen for being selfish and being so worried about something not so important, because she's comparing her problems to Bailey's.

Tibby and Bailey have started to hang out more, and Eric has told Bridget that nothing can happen between them. She is still trying though. Carmen's father's weeding reception has been moved to their house, and she is still having a hard time with all of the recent changes.

Carmen is still annoyed by her father's new family, Bridget has found a way to turn Eric off, Tibby has made friends with a young girl who has leukemia, and Lena has just been spotted swimming naked by Kostos. All of the stories are picking up and becoming more exciting. So far, I am actually enjoying this book.

The girls are all describing their summers, while sending letters to each other occasionally. I like reading about Bridget the most out of the four girls. The pants are in Greece, and haven't moved from Lena yet.

So far, I have learned about all of the characters, and where they're going throughout the summer. The magical pants have made a few appearances, but I'm thinking that the book is mainly about the girls and their separate adventures. So far, I like it, the characters are just a tiny bit hard to follow at first.

Amir staged Hassan in a lie. He made it seem like he stole his birthday money and watch. Although Hassan admitted to the lie, Babba forgave him. Ali and Hassan still insisted on leaving though. The war has started, and they have to flee Afghanistan. They go to Pakistan. On the way, babba nearly gets killed, and almost kills Karim. Kamal dies on the trip and everyone watches as his father commits suicide.

Hassan and Amir still haven't completely made up. They have made efforts to, but since school has recently started, amir has just tried to distract himself. He is avoiding him at all costs. During his birthday party, Assef makes some remarks about the situation then gives him a book about Hitler as a present. Hassan was furious and went outside to calm down.

Amir runs from the scene when Hassan was being beaten by Assef. He's a selfish coward. When he meets up with Hassan again, they pretend like nothing ever happened. He gets the reaction that he wants out of Babba from winning the kite tournament. When Ali and Babba ask about what happened to Hassan, Amir lies and says he doesn't know.

Amir and Hassan have been prepping for the Kite Running tournament. They end up winning the contest. Amir is practically beside himself when he sees the excitement in Babba's face. Hassan went to fetch the kite, and met up with the three "bullies" from before. They wanted the kite, Hassan wouldn't give it to him. Amir stood and watched him get beaten by those boys.

Amir has always enjoyed reading to Hassan, and that is what they spend most of their time together doing. Amir writes a story of his own one day, and Rahim offers to read it. He is baffled by Amir's talent, and tells him to pursue writing. Amir feels guilty when he wished Rahim was his father over Babba. The king of Afghanistan has been overthrown. Babba gives Hassan a plastic surgeon for his birthday to fix his lip.

Susan went off to the oratorical state championships. Her confidence was seen as cocky by Leo, but she ended up winning. When she returned back to the school, a large and excited crowd was expected. Only three people showed. Susan turned back to Stargirl, and Leo turned back to his selfish old ways.

Leo and Stargirl are together much more often now. She figures out that he is the one who left the porcupine tie at her door two years ago. This came as a surprise to me. They kissed, and became really close. When she confesses her love to him in front of everyone, he sort of gets turned off. He explains why people don't like her and now him and soon Stargirl is gone, and Leo is left with a "normal" girl named Susan.

I read about Hassan and his mother leaving him and Amir because of his cleft lip. I know what Babba feels is the ultimate sin, that being stealing. I also know that Babba feels that Amir lacks self defense, and that's something that Amir is going to change.
