Very well written account of the Troubles in Northern Ireland and it feels like you're reading fiction although that is perhaps telling of the stories from back then

I do think that the story has run it's course at 50% of the book so will be interesting to see how the author takes this forward

Have covered 5 of the cases. 1 really interesting case on conjoined twins but the other cases haven't been an interesting albeit have played a fundamental role in British case law.

So far it's been interesting - the style of writing is easy to follow and the premise sounds promising. I can see some hints of beautiful story telling coming.

Interesting read so far - author does seem to make a lot of speculations in his narrative so don't think this is the most historically accurate but maybe just a way to reach more audiences

I have read through 40% of this book and I feel like I've lived a lifetime already - how can this book have so much more to go? How can it have so many more emotional rollercoasters left in it? I like clear signposting in my books ( I like to know ages, year we are in) and this story doesn't have that but I find myself being more and more ok with it. I will finish this book but it is a journey.

I found it hard to follow this story at first but there are moments of brilliance within and some pretty emotional parts. Intrigued to see where this will lead but it is a heavy book for sure.

Tbh when I read the description for this book I wasn't super interested although the story did pique my interest (reading it for a book club). Having read through half of the book, I simply cannot put it down and I can't wait to get to the end. This is very beautifully written.

I'm finding myself really liking the style of writing which seems to be typical Backman. The story itself is quite complex with multiple characters to learn from but it somehow connects and works really well? The author keeps dropping new little gems of info every now and then that I quite enjoy. Look forward to finishing this.

So far, this is a decent insight into growing up as a POC in the UK and attending Eton although I don't think there is any particularly brilliant writing here. Some interesting stories but reads like a standard memoir. Very short book so will hopefully be done by tomorrow.
