Coming into this blind, I was pretty drawn in right away. Emily’s books usually do that for me, regardless of my mood. Alice is definitely the perkiest protagonist I’ve encountered in her books so far. And while I’m not very invested in Margaret’s story yet, I’m curious to see where it goes. It’s giving Evelyn Hugo a bit, but so far, less scandalous.

This is getting NUTS, and I’m absolutely loving it! This story feels so much more unique than book one.

I never read this in school, but I decided to pull it off my shelf and give it a go. Enjoying it more than I expected so far!

This one hooked me quickly, and the pacing is really working for me. I can definitely see myself finishing this in another day or two.

Really enjoying this so far. I’m especially curious to read the bits about her teen years which I believe will be soon. Those are the years that I especially remember her on Disney Channel. I find this exploration of the entertainment industry fascinating, even if a bit sad. I hope that stories like this will make the future brighter for up and coming stars.

Finally picking this up. The beginning feels like too much world info dumping all at once, which is something I don’t like in fantasy… but hanging in there.

I read book 1 with my 3 yr old, and she loved it so much she wanted more. I think it’s a bit above comprehension level, maybe better for 6-10 yr, but here we are. I gave her many choices and she wanted more Hamster Princess. 😆 Book 1 was a Sleeping Beauty retelling and this one appears to be a 12 Dancing Princesses retelling, which isn’t a story I’m as familiar with.

I love Ina more and more as I read this. She has really lived such an interesting life and I love the ways that she and Jeffrey support each others’ dreams. At the point that I’m at she is falling hard into being a workaholic, but I appreciate how much she loves what she does. She is such a strong feminist voice and frankly, I wasn’t expecting it from someone who loves cooking for her husband so much.

This world is very interesting and I’m becoming more intrigued with the story. It hasn’t fully hooked me though and I’m waiting for that aha moment where I love it.

Really enjoying this! She’s so impressive to me and I love hearing her tell her story (listening to the audio with her own narration). It’s inspiring me a bit too.
