Hmm, maybe I am not in the mood for a cryptid tale, struggling to lock in.

Lmaooo, I do think it would be best if Kate wasn't the camp manager. There has to be a degree of competency that she is not delivering on at all.

She is extremely frustrating. She doesn't do something out of spite, shit gets worse as a result, she tries to blame someone else.

Might switch back to the physical book because while I like the narrator, hearing her voice is pissing me off lmaoooo. Why are you mad at Beau for "not doing something" when it is your fault it has gotten to this point!!!

Rereading as I prep to read the third book and I have to admit my patience for Kate is a lot lower this time around, I really feel they had built the family connection in better.

Going to have to put this on pause as I am not having a good time so going to read something else and see if the voice works when I am in a different headspace.

Struggling a bit with this one, I remember why it hasn't been on my reread list unlike some of the others.

This is a very fast read, her voice really pulls you in.

The writing is easy to read, but the characters' choices are not making sense to me.

The pacing in attraction is really throwing me off for a book that has a sequel and as such time for a slow burn.

I think I came in expecting an IA pace since this was part of a reco for fans of Kate Daniels and I am struggling.

I think listening to the audiobook is going to make this a harder finish for me. For some reason some of the lines feel cringey vs funny or attention catching as I listen.

I was hoping for a cuter meet cute, not gonna lie.

Super interesting concept, not sure how i feel about it though. I think I was expecting to care about Kate more by now and I don't. But the overall world and the creeping threat is great.

I own this and have reread it multiple times and thought it would be fun to check out the audiobook while i work and babyyyy... i am struggling, lol.

I know i love this world, I love these books, but the narrator is really grating in me. Going to return it on audible but if you struggled through the audiobook definitely give the ebook or physical book a chance!

When work starts to beat me down, I have to set this up and just escape.
