What a letdown. I didn’t by a word of it. I upped it one str because some of it was readable, but the death knell for a book is being filled with characters about whom we don’t care a whit. Alas, that is the case here.

DNF
A book I always wanted to read. I indulged and purchased a copy last year and dove in.
Deadly. I gave up, tried again, slogging through a little less than half the book. Expecting to be uplifted, I found Merton judgmental, bored and boring, miserable. I tried to force myself to finish, but I'm not in college anymore and no longer need to read what I don't like.

Incredibly depressing and a huge disappointment.
