The Ice Spider was put in the desert section for some inexplicable reason, but so far it’s been very enjoyable.

Bought this as a tool to deepen my understanding of Jungian psychology, self-reflection, and writing prompts. The cards are great for all of those so far! Delving into stories and the subconscious is always a treat.

Somehow, I had managed to avoid any SCPs tied to Alagadda, as it seemed to be one of the more convoluted and derivative parts of the fandom. I was not wrong about it being derivative. It is clearly inspired by The King in Yellow, with Alagadda strongly resembling Carcossa, and it even mentions a madness-inducing play. It was still original enough to be entertaining, and is what I would classify as good fanfiction.

Reading this hardcover edition while listening to Iron Cthulhu Apocalypse is the perfect way to enjoy SCP! SCP-939 is still one of the creepiest, in my opinion, and is even creepier with a dark ambient soundtrack.

Really enjoying the critters and entities in this book so far! Especially enjoying the angelic/celestial ones.

Yeah, yeah, I’m reading way too many books as it is, but I wanted to give my rpg bestiaries a proper read. I’m skipping the number crunchy parts and focusing on lore, but it’s already giving me a lot of ideas for both stories and games.

While I’ve read most of the SCP entries in this series before on the Wikidot, there are still several which I have yet to get to. SCP-166 was heartbreaking!

The first two stories were very strong. I really liked seeing Tarkin’s brutality fleshed out more, and classic Boba is always a delight to read. Next up is Jabba!
