So dramatically voice-acted I had to start consuming it a chapter or two at at time. This is easily accomplished because the chapters are self contained with an overarching storyline like episodes in an old radio drama. Musical interludes and sometimes a bit of narration set off the chapters. I have to slow this one down to keep the multitude of nefarious characters and their evil doings in context.

I’m almost finished and getting less enthusiastic by the page.

A real slog of chases from trolls, palace guards, bounty hunters, dragons, trying to find lost pets, brothers, friends, the meaning of ancient writing. It’s a Tolkien wannabe. Not worth the time. Jetsom is not Frodo. And there’s no Legolas in sight.

Slogging through just to finish. More explicitly violent and sexual than I like.

Whoa, this was not the paranormal I interpreted from the blurb.

Queen Margaret is a brat but I can’t quit listening to her.

I quit and returned the audible book. I didn't like the content and found the narrator's voice obnoxious.

Struggling to read this one. The fool me with The Hunger Games comparison. Writing quality is low down on any scale I put THG on. Heroine's voice and POV mishaps grate on my senses. If her heart does much more leaping, bursting, or swelling, I'm suggesting a cardiologist. Too old to put up with this YA to get to the 💏 feels.💓💗

Irritating musical interludes and the overacting of the narrators are turning me sour on this book. I'm surprised by all the sappy romance in this classic who I have never read but picked up because Trollope was praised so highly by a male coworker years ago.

After nothing but duds since Christmas, it's lovely reading a well written book.

Slow going.
