Update: Okay, I'm further into it, and I guess the thing is I want to like this book, I want to learn from it, but having lost my brother to brain cancer a year and half ago, it's pretty hard.

Having a hard time getting into this book. There are moments of brilliance sandwiched by moments of tedious narrative that doesn't seem to advance the story. Not sure about the characters ... the only one that seems to act like a teenager so far, IMO, is Isaac.
