I get why I was so drawn to this book. It’s not horror (my jam) but as horrible as a story about mental illness and how it can devastate a family can be. Pausing till I get the courage to finish it

Final pages of this this beautiful book. The war is raging and the family home has been conscripted by the army. My heart is breaking but I feel angry and betrayed by the actions of every character!

A magical book, beautiful, reminding me of The World According to Garp. Loving every page!

Rose and Joseph are raised by cruel nuns in an orphanage in Montreal 1920's.

I love Rose!
"She certainly seemed crazy. But she simultaneously made them think that there was nothing in the world wrong with being a crazy girl. And that maybe the world needed a couple more crazy girls." pg 240

Linda is starting Black-Eyed Susans
Half way thorough and becoming more annoyed with every page. The author bounces from present to past without it contributing to the plot or character development. Tessa/Tessie remains uninteresting in either time! If the authors' idea is to create suspense, yanking the reader back and forth should be handled with more clarity and purpose! There better be a good ending...
