I was already not impressed by this book, but at this point I'm just frustrated by it. Gonna finish it, but with a lot of annoyance.

That's a pretty big mistake... Using "here, here" for showing support in a parliament-esque setting, when it's clearly supposed to be "hear, hear"...

I have now surpassed my record from last year of reading the most books read in a single year! We're only halfway through the year, so I plan on reading a whole bunch more.

I'm not reading this as fast as I like to, although it has nothing to do with the book, I'm simply not in the mood to read in the last couple of days.

I’m not really comfortable with this "activity" being portrayed even more negatively than it already is...

It's taking a while to get through, but I'm enjoying it so far! It was to be expected, but Baron Rikard is my favourite character of the bunch.

I'm hoping this will not be like The Blade Itself in which I loved the first 100 pages, and then it went downhill quickly. This is highly enjoyable so far, just let it be a solid book all the way through please!

Am I reading this too fast, and should I instead read slower and savour it? Maybe... Do I have the patience for that? Nope.

I want to hurl this book at the wall, and I especially don't want another 100+ pages of this crap, but I've come so far already 😫

Finally halfway done. I am so unimpressed, but I'm too far in to justify a DNF. The only reason I'm getting through this are the short sentences and easy language.

The physical book isn't really doing it for me, so I switched to the audiobook version and I'm already digging it way more.

Was I planning on reading 160 pages today? Nope, but apparently it happened. Anyway, I'm flying through this like it's a race or something.

I've officially read more books this year than I did all of last year (which was 42). Considering there are still four more months in this year, I'm doing really well! I originally set a goal of 25 books, but I’ve already accomplished that, so now I’m aiming for 52 in total (one for each week of the year). That feels really doable, and I’m curious to see how many read books I’ll end up with by the end of the year.

Showing a map of the Netherlands in 1620 and including Flevoland?!!! Big historical inaccuracy there.

I've decided to DNF Dragon Mage at page 332 of 752, which is 45%. It's disappointing that I've basically read the amount of a whole standard-length book to then DNF it, but I just can't do it anymore.

I feel so distanced from every character.

You should have heard my squeal of excitement when I opened this book and saw that it was signed! I wasn't aware of it when I bought it, so the autograph was a pleasant surprise.

Does it feel like I'm halfway through this incredibly long book? Yes and no.

This would have benefitted from having a trigger-warning list.

I don't know what Goodreads just did, but it decided to pull up my update from way back in 2018 when I DNF'ed this book. I'm starting with a clean slate goddamnit!

I received an eARC of Play of Shadows, which is my most anticipated book of 2024. Holy sh*t, that's just really cool to me. Okay, maybe I'm just a bit too excited to be able to read a book before its publication.

100 pages left. I'll be glad when I'm done, because it feels like I've been reading this for ages.

In case anyone cares what happened to Rise of the Ranger, which I started yesterday: I DNF'ed it at 70 pages. There were too many characters introduced which I could not tell apart at all. I don't mind multiple POV, but this was just too overwhelming. So I deleted it 🤷🏻‍♀️
