I know nothing about the person and his music. Grabbed the book on a whim.
Didn't know what to expect, suddenly family knew Mafia bosses of the time (strong because how Italians were treated in the US), his mom in her teens fought for voting rights, at 20 was a political name in New York - who often beat Sinatra too
His birth was a mess and reportedly attacked the doctor responsible years later.
Fascinating stuff.

Randomly picked this just to read something because I couldn't sleep and kept turning pages.

First story is from a Catholic priest wondering about the fall of the Church. Not exactly something you want to read around midnight. I continued, ready to put it down if it turned into either moralistic preaching or lazy cheap shots at religion. Neither happened, and when I finished the first story, it was over 04:00 AM.

After ~3 months without reading for various reasons, I'm back! Also need to finish feedback on other things, reviews, check news, my groups, contests... *gulps at the to-do list*...

But anyway, I'm actually cruising through this pretty damn fast considering the length and the issues I have with it. Must be the hunger for books after so long.
