Murakami dares to touch upon literature rarity. I love his daring mind--one may flick the pages of this book with unimpressed expression for reasons that are arguable. Talking animals are perceived as childish and negligible, yet, Murakami flowers his ideas relying on the periphery of an earthquake rather than on its own presence. Realistic (and not) portrayals of others' unaffected lives under such predicament.
