Whelp, we’re going in to Halloween wizard-style. Not a bad thing. Listening to the full-cast dramatic audiobook, and it’s pretty damn good!

I remember on my first read loving the islands. But boy are they all bat shit crazy. The pantheon of gods in this world all seem pretty fucked up. But that’s true with most religions, right?

The race with Gluteus driving was awesome. I can so vividly imagine it (and hear it; who doesn’t love Rob Zombie’s “Dragula” song? Dr. Metcalf was right. It was perfect for that race.) And the fallout from Carl and Donut appearing on Plenty of Plenty? Chaos. Oh, and Eris herself…that bitch be crazy.

Yay! The best parts of this book are about to begin. I LOVE getting to visit the isles and leave Basgiath and Aretia behind for a while.

I love Dr. Metcaf! And the Ministry of Bloodletting, in the Weinermobile! I hope Tobias Forge reads this series while he’s on hiatus.

And when I finish this? Guess I’ll restart the series again. Yeah, I joined a cult when I started this series, I just didn’t know it at first.

Donut needling Stalwart is pure gold.

I’ve forgotten how slow the beginning of this book is, but knowing what’s coming makes up for it.

I hate this part, with Violet keeping secrets from her friends. But I know why she is.

Oh gods, I forgot about Varrish. I really, really hate him.

Knowing what happens and rereading this makes it even better. Seeing how both Xaden and Dain respond so differently to Violet, right from the start…wow. I hated Dain from later, but I actually despise him right from the beginning.

I could (and do) listen to the audiobooks over and over. Yes, I’m addicted.

Time for a reread with a new book coming out soon!

I adore the camaraderie and the refusal to break of Hunt, Ruhn and Baxion in the Asteri’s dungeons. And the Hind leading the breakout of the three is such an epic scene!

The villains give me Hunger Games vibes. Put on a good show, entertain the game players. JFC.
