A Christmas present from a friend….some good things to appreciate so far…

Rigorous, but also insightful. I love the last line here: “The Lord is patient, too, in his willingness to call Samuel four times. He never chides Samuel. Nor is he limited by Eli’s failure to lead Samuel into a proper relationship with God.”

For 16 years, I’ve read the Bible through every year. This time around, I’m planning a much slower, more contemplative read. Will probably not finish in a year.

There are so many different aspects of reading that I love, but reading the introductions to nonfiction works may be one of my favorites. I get so excited with all of the promises about everything I’m about to learn, lol. 🤓

Started this on the treadmill yesterday, lol. Every once in a while, I enjoy good historical fiction. Hope this fits the bill!
