I really hope my blood doesn't boil and my blood pressure rise for the entirety of this book. I will feel hope and redemption, right? Right?!?!

This app sucks so bad. I add the audio as "currently reading" and it switches it to hardback. Nevermind that I had to pick "Audio CD" format even though I'm reading digital because common folks aren't allowed to add books anymore.
Storygraph? Audiobook was missing ISBN. I click "add missing info", paste ISBN, save, and, ta-da, correct edition on my shelf.

It has been so long since I've had the "I cannot read fast enough" and "I'm not going to stop reading until I finish" thoughts about a book. So long. Thank you Alex Michaelides!

Received my OwlCrate edition of A Fragile Enchantment. Started reading immediately & went to add it to my "currently reading" shelf. But, of course, edition is not on GR yet. So weary of submitting tickets to the overworked, tireless volunteer librarians--and having the ticket sit open for way too long. I didn't even bother submitting a ticket this time--it's on StoryGraph and I'm there more than here now anyway!

My OwlCrate exclusive edition arrived this afternoon and I started reading it immediately. The fact that I zoomed through the first nine pages of this story confirmed that I needed to DNF the book I have been struggling to connect with since January 2!

Manga I read today: 30 year-old character is referred to as "old man" 😢

Of course she suggests reading Moby-Dick. Why oh why must this damn whale haunt me?

When you know it was like this (and still is like this) but it is so infuriating your blood boils to a point you have to put the book down and update GR progress. Because, Elizabeth, I want to reach into the pages and stab that campus cop with a pencil on your behalf. Grrrrrrrrr

I am strongly considering a move to Storygraph. Are any of my friends over there? Using both Storygraph and GR? I'm just tired of the clunky GR app, the lack of 1/2 star rating ability, and finding many editions of a book are NOT on the website (i.e.: a hardback may be listed but a digital audiobook often is not).

I could listen to Patrick Stewart for eternity. His voice...I lose it with every Shakespearean recitation...even the one- or two- liners

Having a hard time understanding howC is a suspect when he had an obvious alibi. I get that fiction demands suspending belief...but there should be SOME reasonable, sensible lines drawn right???

Automata are present? The 2nd sentence in this paragraph discusses them as if we knew they were there rather than be told of them for the first time!

Who the hell is Carisa??? I even did an e-book search for the name and only other mention was AFTER this!

Feeling like I'm drowning in an info dump. Way too much being thrown at this reader in first two dozen pages. I'll never remember it all!

Did I just increase my GR challenge goal? In late September? I sure did! I've been inhaling graphic novels and manga this year (39 thus far). This increased goal of 175 for 2023 reflects the # I was hemming and hawing over at beginning of the year. Should have just gone with the higher goal to begin with.

Just got notice from FairyLoot that my copy of their exclusive edition of Never a Hero is in-route so decided it was time to read this baby!

That's it. I cannot be doing this "force myself to read it because everyone is raving about it" thing. Why does it feel like I'm already confused? And feeling like I'm getting an info dump. Just nope.

I give this book one more night's reading then I'm DNF'ing. I have already given it over 50 more pages than I normally give a book before DNFing. Why one more night? Because the author is so loved and I have longed to try some of their work. And because I just DNFd another book...and I'm not excited about DNFing two in one month!
