Wait a damn minute. Flashbacks. It’s giving me flashbacks.

So….the author combined science, religion, and history. The angels are basically Evil. They’re conquistadors living outside of our universe. The Avians are basically Natzi’s working for fallen angels. Lucifer is evil, but all angels are evil. So his evil doesn’t matter. The devil is not on our side, but he doesn’t like the angels. So, humans have to help him when he gets jumped by a gang of Angels.

There are SO many new characters, and I just ignore them all because I don’t believe anything anyone says. I label them Liar 1-1000.

Damn. This plot be plotting. Intricately weaving in and out of the past and the present, this plot is a masterpiece.

Damn. This is like the very last Sirantha Jax book where she comes back, and her crew/friends have moved on. I may or may not need to stop reading because that book broke me.

What does she mean when she said that the lady had her for 2 years? What does she mean about the baby? She was only out for 1 paragraph.

Why would a Native American be familiar with Wicca? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

You mean to tell me that this girl has a huge house, but still decided to put her mother figure into a facility?……hmmmm.

This is the equivalent of loving a violently racist grandma. Not my cup of tea.

I swear that this is entirely too familiar. I've read this before. Now I have to dig through my reading history.

Daaaaaamn . The protagonist is a murderer.

The author chose to explore the trauma of historical people on a whole different continent instead of the trauma of the characters (and their ancestors) from which the book takes place. That’s the most peculiar thing that I have ever experienced in reading. The main character has no ties to that trauma. Are the readers supposed to care?

Nope. I quit.

I know what this is. I am glad that this exists. I am grateful for who the author got to read the audiobook. It was the icing on the cake.

You mean to tell me that he is SO smart that he covered all of his bases, and she is SO stupid that she didn’t even know what game she was playing?

Mistake #1: We DO NOT put wax on our dreads. Let me repeat that. Black People DO NOT put wax on their dreads!!!! Wax is a requirement ONLY for white people because their hair texture does not allow for their hair to properly loc.
Mistake #2: No one forgives that easily. Especially if their response is to run away.

I don’t like Ciara. Period. But I have to consider that she’s still a child. She will learn. Eventually.

The main character is a no for me. No culture. No critical observation of her surroundings. Just unrealistic morals of someone who is considered smart but doesn’t pay enough attention to people themselves. There is no depth. She is a superficial heroine.
