The first few pages slap me awake to see the current situation of our world. The beginning offers layers of cynicism which leads me to rethink the narrative of our world we think has improved, at the same time has caused environmental degradations and threatening civilization.
I have the feeling that this one will be the highlight of this years readings omg

So far I got good insights - although pretty much annoyed by narration-based interviews between the author and the monk. Im not a quitter tho :’)

In my 12% progress, I have the feeling this book aimed at Western readers and not people of color coming from ‘exotic’ lands. Wisdoms he got from Eastern philosophy have blown my friends’ mind that they came to me and recommend this book. The same way when I recommend my western friends to read The Gay Science by Friedrich Nietzsche (my discovery to the western world) 88% to go - won’t give it up, just yet ;)
