Just divine.

This is the sixth book in this series I’ve now read in about 9 or 10 days. I can’t help myself - how is this series getting better with each book? So many interweaved layers, stories, historical tales, rich cities, towns and characters. Incredible.

Dnf… just not grabbing me I’m afraid.

59 pages shy of the end and already, this is worth every shining particle of 5 stars.

Halfway through. What delight - having just finished Less by Andrew Sean Greer, another vision of Europe (Italy via Florence this time) that brings forth the chink of glassware, still frosty against the late summer slant of light and cicada chorus.
Spoilt by two excellent novels in quick succession. Reading is such joy, isn’t it?

Tedious. 100 pages in and when is this story going to get moving? Where’s the editor?

Improving steadily.

So far, dull. an exact third in and there’s been little action or plot development - but hey, lots of conversation with snorting nostrils or drawn brows. Heroine is rather annoying. The circus feels cliche and overly convenient. Ok, here’s hoping it improves.
