not as captivating as I thought. The main character is just weird. At the end, I'm trying to figure out if her weirdness was helpful to those around her or not.

I'm only one chapter in and totally captivated.

I ruined the ending by looking up the main characters on wikipedia. know the ending changed my opinion of the characters. thought inspiring book challenged my views on marriage, relationships, and feminism. written closely to acurate historical events.

Listening to this audio version to and from work. Also a wearisome story...suposeded twist at the end is the only thing keeping me intrigued, but I have a feeling this one will leave me angry in the end. Set in 1909, a feminist leaves her family to follow her lover abroad and attempt to be self sufficient. Both characters seem selfish to me.

hoping to finish today. not as interesting read as I had hoped. All of the characters are getting under my skin. 40 something female irritated with husband, kids, and world view...thought I could relate, but she seems entirely too selfish. And husband yo-yoed from one extreme to antother--super jerk to niave (almost to insane) save the world mission. Wearisome read.
