Wait a minute.... this is some Tay/Trav stuff right here!

Have you ever thought, "Wow, this is going to be a great story," and then you start reading and... sure, the details are still interesting... but the writing is a bit bland? That is the current mood.

Re-reading before the movie comes out and within the first few pages I'm like... Ah, yes, I remember why I had "issues" with this book. But, alas, I shall create a new review when this experience is over.

"...work ethic alone isn't currency--you have to be savvy with where and how you spend your efforts."

I am now 83% through this book and am convinced this "list" is fake and we're not going to do anything on it. Shame.

No... really.... where is the kink that was promised? So far... this is not the kink that I was wanting/expecting.

Why is this book so long? We could really speed this up if we stopped repeating things. I know, I know. Just keep reading.

Is... is the kink in the room with us? I say this as someone who has LOVED other novels by Ali Hazelwood... but where is all of this kink I was promised?

Absolutely loving this. This book is the perfect thing to get you over a reading slump!

An adult woman, who has been married before, doesn't know how to put a condom on? AYFKM? Who is writing this and why are you insisting that women are complete idiots -- she doesn't know how to put a condom on a man? Can't even begin to think it through with her tiny woman brain? This is actually insulting.

This was published in 2023, but feels like it could have been published in the 1800s. I mean... fake monarchies, coups, and so far a pretty boring plot...

It is going to be hard for me to ever stop loving Kingfisher....

Is this a joke? No, seriously, is this a joke? All of my dirty book friends told me that I *absolutely had* to read this book because it was *just so good* and I am approximately halfway through this book and (1) Was this written by AI or a robot or... The writing is just BAD. So cliche. One sentence paragraphs. Silly, stupid phrasing. What?! (2) Bleh, where's the steamy stuff at? The pew pew scene... rape?! Ick.

Jane, Jane, Jane. Girl, you have some serious problems. And you're starting to drive me nuts. Yet... here I am, with 1.5 hours left in this audiobook. Grr!

"There's a hand near my d*ck that isn't mine... I gently untuck and examine it--long fake nails, Cartier rings, and a Rolex strapped to her slender wrist. Who the f*ck is it?" (Chapter 2).

Uhm.... does no one else think this may be a problem? Why are these young adults unable to identify who they're in bed with? This really points to some problems that I don't want to see in a "romance" -- not sexy at all.

"It's a frying pan that ruins Lucas's life. We'll get to that."

Wonderful way to start a story!

50% through this book and Bigfoot is pretty mysterious... meaning, when are we going to actually delve into the "secret history" or the "field notes" that I was expecting based on, you know, the title?!

So far, the only thing I can say is... why is Safiya Sinclair working at ASU? Can we steal her down to UA? Just, you know, #wildcats and #beardown.

Loving it. TJR is really growing on me, and I just can't deny it anymore. Lol.

This is not a "long" book but my goodness it seems tedious! It just keeps dragging and dragging... if we could get some content (and not just a listing of fancy designers and the names of imported cars) that would be wonderful. Not sure that this book has "added" much to the first. Rachel has a half-brother. Woo.

Unpopular opinion: I kind of wish everyone would have died, because quite frankly I'm 88% of the way through this book, and I'm not sure that I care (at all) about any of these people. Not. One.

At the beginning of this book, I said, "Well, this could be easily solved if Laurie just tells Sarah that Jack is 'Bus Boy'" but that does not happen. It takes 64% of this book to finally see this conversation!!! Think of the pain and trauma that could have been avoided had this conversation happened at, oh, 5% into the book. Lol.

Am I allowed to cast Kat Graham in a film adaptation of this film? Because I absolutely have in my head.
