They made the dad a little too super villain-y, it hits harder when the digs are subtle, when the love is really present. This just feels like a caricature with how badly he acts

I switched to the audio to try and finish it out, this narrator doing a little girl voice to play his god daughter just gave me the biggest ick 😵‍💫😂😂😂

Certain phrases have been repeated multiple times, like him liking doing something that makes Isa’s life easier, or Isa repeating to the reader how she has to meet her potential. It’s not that those things can’t carry the story, but when simple concepts are repeated with very similar wording, it gets old

Might be a LITTLE heavy handed on the parental pressure (not that it’s not real, just a lot pressed j to one dinner it almost feels cartoony and less real)
