It was too early for "honey" and all the rest in the first chapter and it's still too early for that shit.

Unnecessarily wordy is the kindest thing I can say about this right now.

Was the ebook censored? That read like something was missing.

I'm fully aware that my love for historical romance relies on self-deception, to a degree, but this writing is ripping away the blinders faster than you can say a corset.

I get that the author is trying to avoid sexist language but "ungrateful person" reads awkwardly.

I'm sure it has a purpose but the one repeated English line in Finnish (or Swedish) text is annoying. Reading in my native tongue suddenly makes me a purist.

"-Berglund & Berglund, tuplatutka-" Heh.

Rowling handled the introduction of multiple protagonists much better.

Holy repetition Batman and sacred infodump Joker.

"The madder people. A lot of them seem to be leaders of countries or religions or armies. The real loonies."

Dammit, why does he have to be called Soren. (Nope, I did not read the blurb before starting this story.)

"Unintentional, admittedly, but it isn't always the thought that counts."

This is the part where terrorism is glorified. Awesome.

Winston is awfully trusting. Not at all as paranoid as I'd expect someone living in such a society to be.

I've not read the English original this far yet, but in the translation he's describing the violence he would have liked to do to her including rape her.

How in the world is this considered good literature?

Newsflash: Important is not the same as good.
