I wish this book had been available when my son was in high school

While I applaud the author for writing this book and bringing these issues to light, it is very dry reading for anyone not already enmeshed in this field. It has the quality of a report, almost as if the author had several points she wanted to make and gathered case studies to support her theory.

I did find the first 25% or so to be very repetitive. With some good editing I feel it could keep the readers interest better and move the pace along more smoothly.

Kim writes a scene capable of eliciting strong, believable emotion.
Even when you are full of rage over how her family is "helping" Cassidy, you'll laugh at the mess she finds herself in.
She takes the premise of a beloved children's tale and adds depth to it. The interactions between Cass and Finn are electric.
