Second time reading these books… I still am not sure about the debate of reading this first or third. I read it third the first time… I’m reading it first this time 👀

Why did everyone recommend this series I really haven’t enjoyed it (expect the second book)

I may be overthinking it but in crescent city the lost fendyr hair was trapped in some sort of water thing right ? Controlled by a warlock?? So what if Vassa is trapped by the same being and because she’s bird by day, trapped in water at night right? So is Koschei (the god of death) also the same person from crescent city???
