Took until about Chapter 5 or 6 for me to get into this one. Thus far it’s cozy fantasy meets litRPG, and I am here for it.

I’m on Chapter 13: Reading is for fathers. And god damn if that one isn’t hitting close to home in some really unfortunate ways right now. 😢

Carl meeting his new recruits for the faction wars is the most heart warming. It’s making me tear up.

And as odd of a comparison as this is going to be, it’s got the same kind of feels and vibes as the camaraderie in my breast cancer survivor dragonboat during a carnation ceremony. God I love those women.

Wild start to a book. We’re getting into some deep lore.

The number of times I have wanted to have a spray bottle to train Amina like a cat in the opening chapters of this book is VERY high. Fucking Christ she make’s making so many dumb decision. “Look at all the things I learned during the first book! But they DON’T apply in this context because I’M special.” 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Still feels like it would be a good one for an immersive read. And yet, I still don’t have a copy of the physical or e-book. I’m enjoying it a bunch though. Amina is giving off vibes of some of my very dearest friends.

I opted for audiobook, and so far it has been a very good delivery, but I think this might be a really good one for an immersive read with a physical book as well.

Oh damn, this is fucking wild. Whoever let Carl go to ComicCon didn’t think things through very thoroughly. 😂

Hey! Not very often Basque things make their way into pop culture! But Carl is about to be lobbing bombs with a xistera!

Probably going to have to listen to the last part of chapter 2 again.
