But here’s the thing, how exactly am i supposed to know how far into this book i actually am? I say I’m on this page, but who knows how much progress I’ve actually made on this journey, this maze I’ve found myself in…

(Rereading)… again, Thrawn’s strategic, tactical wisdom is amazing to read about - and it VERY much is a show-don’t-tell thing. Ie other characters don’t boast abt Thrawn’s solutions, you see it.

Wait it’s been an hour and I’m almost a hundred pages in? What a hilarious and exciting pageturner!

Great so far; loving the dynamic between Avasarala and Bobbie, think the mystery of Prax’s daughter feels compelling, and the evolution of Holden as he struggles with ptsd and paradigm shifts from the first book is great to read.

It’s great so far. She delves into concepts, such as endometriosis, that were very foreign to me (and a lot of medical professionals unfortunately) - and highlights the problems in the medical community, institutions (i.e. how much teachers are able to help kids they know are struggling w family challenges), etc. She also highlights those that helped her and shared compassion.

Awesome so far - the persistence and realistic optimism in the face of hard challenges / failure makes the protagonist very likeable.
