I am absolutely loving the snark accompanying the history.

I fried a hard drive over the weekend, and as it is the one that contains my library, even though the vast majority of the books are on my ereaders, I don't know what to read next. I probably won't read much of anything until I sort out the hard drive situation and attempt to recover my files from the fried drive. Wish me luck!

Don't anonymous complaints/suggestions go against the "everything will be known" aspect of the company previously? I'm curious if that evolution of allowing secrets will be touched on. After all: secrets are lies.

To summarize what I'm hearing so far:

Oh, so this is going to be stupid funny? 😹 And here I was looking at the title thinking it was about actual parasites... (My bad for not reading the subtitle.) Oh well, it's included in my audible subscription and it's good to know what the other side says.

I was expecting another futuristic story, but instead we went back in time and visited a couple black witches who could see glimpses of the future.

"The City Born Great"
The birthing of a city. Sort of. It was a really fascinating and creative look at cities. I think I've read it before, but that didn't interfere with my enjoyment.

"The Ones Who Stay and Fight"
I would say that a utopian city such as this one might be worth the cost that is being paid. It's worth a shot at least. Right?

Can we just appreciate the absurdity of the dust chapter for a moment!? The fact that the entire first chapter of just handholding white people into feeling safe enough to read this book is just... Well, exactly what I expected.

Like, have you ever wondered about a single word and how it came to have meaning? ... what if all the meaning that we’ve assigned to things comes undone all at once? I’m talking beyond language. I'm fascinated by the history and science, and highly entertained by the writing style. 😺

This book is missing courtesy of my cats. Eventually I'll find and finish it. Hahaha!

I did enjoy what he said about public speaking. It's some lessons that I've learned over the years.

It's been hard to put this book down when necessary.
