WARNING: Void bladder before reading. This is delightfully silly, even compared to the Kaiju one, and I love it.

This is *really* good, as evidenced by the fact that I'm still reading the damned doorstopper. I should have gotten it on Kindle - the paperback is so thick it's an ergonomic risk.

Ok, she clearly hadn't hit the Goon Squad and Manhattan Beach brilliance yet. I'm keeping going with this, not because it's an enjoyable read but because, having already read her later stuff, I can see its roots in this and that's intellectually really interesting. It's more an anthropology exercise.
