"I don't like my toys being played with" in reference to her. Dude is a major red flag.

Indecisive female main character? ✅
Male main character who won't confess his feelings? ✅
The desire to throat punch the female main character? ✅✅✅

I hate when "friends" don't find the other attractive unless they've "bulked up" I already find the female main character shallow because of it. 🙄

So help me after his manipulating self .. if she gets with him at the end this book is crap and she has no self worth for herself. I don't know why I'm still reading this trash toxic wanna be relationship.

Favorite part:
MMC: stay still until I get the ladder.
(My revision) But she didn't stay still and yeeted herself off the roof! 🤦 Stating the obvious drives me crazy sometimes.

I really wanted to finish this book. I can't. Jack is a tool. Sorry for any spoilers. But this man is an idiot. He won't communicate and pins everything on his wife to sort out and carry their relationship. Then while she's been fighting for their relationship he says she's not. Yeah sorry no. Even if he redeems himself there's no coming back. I loved the town of big stone gap but Jack? He's a huge red flag!!

I'm trying .. everything in me wants to toss this one out. I like the characters... But the main character's husband is such a controlling moron it's hard to get past.
