Jenni Fagan is one of my favourite authors. This is her autobiography. It is bleak so far. Her mum was sectioned at the time of her birth - and Grandma was the most famous drunk in Glasgow, which is a real achievement.

Someone else in Cambridge clearly likes Fagan's work as I picked up Hex a few weeks back and now this - shout out to Amnesty bookshop on Mill Road.

Ms Marples meets Magnum PI in a gothic hotel in rural Scotland, at a wedding where a scheming publisher is marrying off his son to the part owner of a takeover target. All is not well amongst the guests for the happy event.

I think there's going to be a muuuurder, possibly several.
