Book is beautifully written, and well-researched. I thought this would be more magical realism, it's actually a historical(-correct-ish) story, following 3 characters in different time periods and locations. All three story lines are quite sad, and the last chapters are dark. It's not for me I guess, not in these times. Reading is more escapism for me.

Nog een keer maar dan in het Nederlands om voor te lezen. De humor/taalspel/schattigheid is goed behouden gebleven in de vertaling :)
